Volunteers - Triathlon de l’Alpe d’Huez

Every year, the volunteers of the Alpe d’Huez Triathlon write their own legend, accompanying the triathletes along every step of their extraordinary sporting endeavours during the event. They are the heart and soul of the triathlon, guaranteeing the atmosphere and good spirit of this event that’s so well known for being warm and welcoming.

They often don’t get the recognition they deserve – so THANK YOU!

In 2020, the adventure promises to be bigger and better than ever, running from the 27th to the 31st July. If you look for a chance to take part in this unforgettable event as a member of our team of fantastic volunteers (between 20th July and 2nd August), then you’ve come to the right place! What is being an Alpe d’Huez Triathlon Volunteer all about?

Anyone and everyone is welcome; we’re a sporting event where a diverse skills set is needed for the race, as well as the organisational team! The sorts of tasks are (but not limited to!):

Managing the food stands
Putting up and taking down of starting area, finishing area and transition zones
Setting up and managing the race bib collection
Logistical organisation
Security and signalling along the course route
Sorting the swimming kit and personal affairs of race participants

The Alpe d’Huez Triathlon offers a unique experience to its participants. The purpose of this independent event is to defend a vision of the triathlon based on the essence of the sport: personal achievement, respect, solidarity and humility. With its four-race line-up, the event brings together athletes of all origins and profiles around one and the same spirit, the 21 bends of Alpe d’Huez.
