Coaching, an increasing demand

With the progressive rise in participation in recent years (4000 traithletes expected for the 15th edition) the services offered to triathletes become more and more complex and varied for the organisers. According to the race director Cyrille Neveu, “in order to improve, we have to evaluate year on year our services and our offer to triathletes, to keep going from strength to strength. We’ve been considering for a while how to respond the increasing need for training programmes within the triathlete community. But it order to take the plunge, we needed to find both technical capabilities and a personalised touch. In this sense, GUTAÏ is the perfect solution at the right time.” Developed specifically for the Alpe d’Huez races and based on the profiles and conditions of the routes, the training plans proposed by GUTAÏ are targeted for all our race participant (the app is available in multiple languages), what ever their training level and amount of support desired. “We’ve found the one: the one which can manage a large number of athletes with diverse needs, on a top of the range app which has already earnt its stripes, but without losing that personal touch that characterises our race” adds Cyrille.

GUTAÏ is the perfect solution at the right time.

GUTAÏ, algorithms and people

Developed in 2016, GUTAÏ is a French app which is characterised by its ‘intelligence’, able to constantly analyse a triathlete’s training data to readjust the training plan accordingly. Loic Lepoutre, the Director General at GUTAÏ, explains : ‘As well as our algorithm which is our strength, currently used by 10 000 sportsmen and women mostly cyclists, runners and triathletes, we have a team of coaches that are well-known, qualified and complement each-others skills sets and approaches to achieve our mission. The app might be the platform, but it’s the meaningful relationship between our team and our athletes which make it work.” From the 26th to the 31st July, the GUTAÏ team will be there at the heart of the triathlon’s Village Expo to give their expertise to triathletes and demonstrate all the possibilities offered by the app. What is more, three GUTAÏ coaching sessions will be organise during the week in order to tackle specific training points and have that crucial in person element.
