Discover the Green Bib of the Alpe d’Huez Triathlon 2025

Produce less, produce better. The 19th edition of the Alpe d’Huez Triathlon is taking a different approach with the introduction of its Green Bib. When registering for the Duathlon or the L and M Triathlons (opening on September 15), participants will be able to opt for a Green Bib, meaning they will not receive the corresponding race kit (T-shirt, medal, backpack, etc.). This means less production and therefore less impact on the environment, as well as a more attractive price for participants.

Why introduce the Green Bib at the Alpe d'Huez Triathlon?

The idea for the Green Bib came directly from the annual satisfaction survey, completed by hundreds of participants (1,340 in 2024!). In recent years, more and more triathletes have expressed their legitimate interest and concern about the eco-responsibility of the event. But among the many issues raised in the comments, the production of prize money for participants is divisive. On the one hand, some claimed the importance (or even the sanctity!) of the finisher’s medal or the edition’s T-shirt, while others were ready for more sobriety and simplicity. The Green Bib is designed to address this ambivalence: to encourage each person to take responsibility and for triathletes to be at the heart of the change.

How does work the Green Bib?

When they register, triathletes opt for the Green Bib and, during the event, the organisers identify them, from the time they receive their bibs until they reach the finish line (the bib will be really distinctive), so that they are only provided with items specific to the race. Of course (need to mention?), all services and food supplies are the same for everyone.

Registrations rates for the 19th edition
The end of the Day Pass:

Another new feature on the registration side is the disappearance of the Day Pass for non-licensed participants, marking a turning point in the management of the event. Non-licensed athletes will no longer pay a supplement simply because they are not… licensed. On the other hand, and as always, teams will benefit from a preferential and progressive rate, as a way of continuing to promote the development of the triathlon through federal practice, in teams. To take advantage of this offer, teams can already contact our crew in charge of registrations by email at hello@alpetriathlon.com.

Explanation by Laurence Neveu, event director

«For our organisation and our company, it has become essential to adjust our registration fees in order to maintain the level of service that has grown over the last ten years. For a long time, we have been determined to protect our fees, during critical times for everyone, especially after the COVID crisis and when our suppliers’ fees were rising sharply. But the current situation means that we can no longer guarantee our quality standards without updating our prices.»
